Don't forget to prepare for the music theory test on tuesday obviously and also the sound engineering one on the sme date (page 17-34) Wink

N.B! Guys even if we aint given any tests during some weeks, its always safe and good to stay ahead (meaning we must always study and revise the stuff we learned in class).

The following is a list of things to study regarding the June exams for those who were absent when Wynand was giving it to us:

Sound Engineering: - All the equipment orientation.
                                    - Fundamentals of sound - microphones
                                    - Tips of microphones - recording the acoustic guiter
                                    - Recording the drumkit part 1 & 2
(Practicals) ~ Setting up the computor - digital connections
                                                      - hardware compressor
                                                      - hardware FX unit
                                                      - External instrument
                                                      - All the booths for recording in relation to the control room
                                                        (spoken voice, vocals, acoustic guiter recordings including
                                                         processing)

Software: - The entire Cubase 5

Music Production Technique: - Genres (Hip-Hop)
(theory & practical)                                   (RnB)
                                                             (Trance)
* Sequencing guiter
* Sequencing drums
* Sequencing bass
* Sequencing strings
* Backing tracks

Business: - Everything from chapter 2 - 14

Synthesis: - Everything up to FM synthesis (Chapter 1 - 2, additive & subtractive synthesis)
(theory & practicals)

Ear Training: - Intervals in relation to "Do"
                           - 3rd intervals
                           - Majors, minors & diminished
                           - Inversions
                           - Waveforms (single/composite)
                           - Buildings blogs (filter env, amplitude, LFO)

For those of you who where not in class today, here are the things you need to look at and practice regarding synthesis for the exams:

~ Single wave recognition.
~ Composite waveform creation and recognition (2 osc waves)

Synth Parameters (recognition and recreate)
- Detuning
- Syncing (SCB Synth)
- Amp envelopes
- Filter envelopes
- LFO modulation
  * vibrato
  * tremolo
  * freq modulation
  * beat effects (note-switching/gating)
                       osc picth          f. freq
